Walters & Cohen Architects to design new boarding house for Wycombe Abbey School

 

Walters and Cohen Architects has won a competition to design the masterplan and new boarding house for Wycombe Abbey School beating MICA, Scott Brownrigg, David Morley Architects and IID.

Founded in 1896, the school is located on a 170-acre campus near High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. It has been developed in phases since 1896 but with earlier periods of influence including landscape which benefits from the involvement of Capability Brown in the 1760’s. The grade 2* listed Abbey designed by James Wyatt is the focus of the academic accommodation while the boarding accommodation sits in 167 acres all accessible to the students.
